SF₆-Free equipment developed by Electro-Alfa International is designed by its in-house R&D team and produced at the company’s facilities in Botoșani

Bucharest, June 4, 2026 – Electro-Alfa International (BVB symbol: EAI), a leading Romanian manufacturer of electrical equipment and provider of EPC and IT services, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, announces an accelerated transition toward SF₆-Free technologies, which are safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.

In the first four months of 2026, the company sold over 300 SF₆-Free units developed by Electro-Alfa’s in-house R&D team and manufactured at its production facilities in Botoșani. The products are designed for integration into projects in the electricity distribution sector and across various industries, including oil, cement, and food processing, as well as for the construction of industrial and office buildings, hospitals, electric vehicle charging stations, and renewable energy projects.

The estimated value of the SF₆-Free equipment sold in the first four months of 2026 exceeds RON 11.2 million, in a context where the number of suppliers of such solutions remains relatively limited at both European and regional level.

The competitive advantage of the new SF₆-Free technologies manufactured by Electro-Alfa in Botoșani

Electro-Alfa launched a range of innovative SF₆-Free solutions in October 2025. Subsequently, the company’s R&D team announced the completion of Alfa UniGrid, a new product within the same portfolio. Currently, the engineers and designers within Electro-Alfa’s R&D department are developing a new range of SF₆-Free medium-voltage switchgear, Alfa EcoGrid.

Electro-Alfa’s SF₆-Free equipment range is designed for a wide variety of applications, from urban and rural power networks to critical infrastructure such as hospitals, factories, and logistics centers, where reliability is essential. In the green commercial buildings segment, the solutions meet the strict requirements of LEED and BREEAM certifications, while in the renewable energy sector they support the integration of solar and wind farms into electricity grids.

Electro-Alfa currently manufactures a range of SF₆-Free equipment that includes:

• ALFA BLUE ASNA-RMU: A fully SF₆-Free technology that uses only natural air at atmospheric pressure for insulation. It requires no monitoring or refilling, offers low maintenance requirements, and has an operational lifespan of up to 40 years.

• ALFA GREEN AIR-INSULATED: Developed as an SF₆-Free solution featuring a patented load break switch, where arc extinction is achieved in vacuum and insulation is provided by dry air. Designed for secondary distribution applications, it offers a robust, safe, and reliable alternative to traditional equipment.

• ALFA UNIGRID and ALFA ECOGRID: Ranges of modular SF₆-Free medium-voltage switchgear for secondary distribution applications up to 24kV, 630A, 16kA, specifically designed to meet the requirements of distribution operators

Additionally, Electro-Alfa also manufactures ALFA SM AIR-SET under a Schneider Electric license, equipment that uses the patented SVI (Shunt Vacuum Interruption) technology, where arc extinction is achieved in vacuum while insulation is provided by pure air. This technology interrupts current without generating alternative gases or toxic by-products.
